According to Nokia’s official blog, the Lumia 800 device will reach an unprecedented sale on Orange UK, or so the carrier claims.
The post on Nokia’s blog appears to have been removed shortly after being published, but thank God for Google’s cache, because we would have missed it.
It looks like Orange UK predicted that Lumia 800 sales have been higher than any Nokia handset so far and that half of all pre-orders came from customers who are eligible for Orange’s free Xbox 360 promotion.
The same blog post has quoted an Orange spokesperson saying the following:
“As a result of the level of interest we’ve had in preorders, we’re really positive about the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 which we believe will be really popular with our customers.
This is the largest interest we’ve had in a Nokia handset, including the huge-selling N95 and 5800 handsets, and our marketing campaign hasn’t kicked in yet.
When it does, this will further promote the Xbox 360 offer to new customers signing up to the device.”
What’s interesting about the post is that it was published November 15th and the Lumia 800 as launched in UK today, November 16th.
Anyway, the webpage is long since gone but if you want to check it out for yourself, check below for a link to the cached page or simply view the snapshot above.
Pretty interesting, wouldn’t you say?
