Nokia TV Launched – Available Only in Finnish

 Finnish Nokia Lumia owners will be glad to find out that Nokia has added yet another app to their collection and Nokia TV is it.

 Only available in Finnish so far, those of you that scan the QR code below can actually download and install it, regardless of their location.

 Although we don’t know why someone who’s not from Finland would want to use it, it’s still nice to see that Nokia has imposed no country limitations, meaning that if you’re on vacation you can still check out your favorite videos.

First Windows Phone 8 Builds Revealed

The guys from WP7Forum.ru have managed to get their hands on a couple of Windows Phone 8 builds and were kind enough in sharing with the rest of us.

Apparently pulled from an app that has been spotted as running on various “weird” builds, the leaked Apollo build are believed to be Windows Phone 8 related and we’ll just have to wait until June to get confirmation on that.

Starting with build 8.0.9666 all the way to 8.0.9688, it does seem that the cropped builds might be running on actual devices instead of emulators.

MVPs Get Nokia Devices with Apollo and Windows Phone 7

Windows Phone MVPs have recently been contacted by Nokia via email with the express mention that they’ll be receiving a free Windows Phone device provided they do some “charity” work and promote the OS at conferences and events.

The same emailed notification also mentions that Windows Phone 8 handsets will he handed out as well as soon as they become available, to all those “worthy” of the giveaway.

Of course, we didn’t make the list, but all is not lost since we’re probably going to get our hands on an Apollo device along with everyone else (hopefully).

Samsung Minuet, Nokia Lumia 719c and Lumia 610c Launching With China Telecom

China Telecom is supposed to be coming out with three new Windows Phone handsets (Samsung Minuet, Nokia Lumia 719c and Lumia 610c) that will definitely have enthusiast doing backflips.

The CDMA carrier has yet to release an official launch date for the new Windows Phone devices, but in all likelihood they’ll be available within the next couple of months.

Price tags have not been disclosed as they’re probably preparing some enticing 2-year deals that will lure a lot of customers for China Telecom.

Windows Phone 8 Revealed in June With Nokia Hardware?

Windows Phone 8 is due to be in the media’s eye sooner that anyone would have expected as Techit reported that Microsoft is scheduled to make an official public announcement in June.

Probably part of the Windows Phone Developer Summit, Apollo will be revealed along with what we’re hoping to be some new hardware.

A SDK and possibly an emulator will definitely be available to developers so that app experimentation can be done until the official Windows Phone 8 launch, rumored to be this late Q4.

HTC Titan For a Penny With AT&T

If you’re a Windows Phone fan but you don’t have enough cash to buy out a Nokia Lumia 900, you’ll be pleased to find out that there’s a new AT&T deal for the HTC Titan that has it price slashed for as low as one penny.

With a two year contract and a penny, you can now own a HTC Titan and start using Windows Phone to its full potential. While it’s definitely a good sign that AT&T is selling out HTC Titan stocks, we can’t help but wonder if they’ll ever replenish them again.

Apple’s Siri No Longer Considers The Lumia 900 as the “Best Smartphone Ever”

Apple’s Siri has been spotted as saying that the Nokia Lumia 900 is the best smartphone ever when answering the “What is the best smartphone ever?” question.

While we don’t argue this, it does seem that Siri’s results were based on Wolfram Alpha’s ability to spot four different reviews in which the Lumia 900 got a five star rating.

Siri has definitely made a mess of things with this recent claim (to Windows Phone fans’ delight) and Apple has quickly fixed the issue.

Homebrew Folders for Windows Phone Bumped to v4.1

Everyone that’s using the homebrew Folders app for Windows Phone developed by Windows Phone Hacker member Jaxbot, will be pleased to find out that a new version has now been released.

Bumped to version 4.1, the new homebrew app now features a couple of improvements and optimizations that will make it worthwhile and will definitely provide a better user experience.

Pandora Confirms No Plans for Official App on Windows Phone

The guys from Pandora have officially admitted that Windows Phone is not on their development list in terms of creating a Pandora app at any time soon.

A concerned Windows Phone enthusiast has contacted Pandora in regards to the issue and a lengthy reply followed, detailing the reasons why they’re not considering an app for Windows phone.

While we’re having trouble understanding the reasons behind their reluctance in adopting Windows Phone, we’ll just have to let this one slide for now and hope that they’ll reconsider soon.

Monster Island has finally surfaced in UK after only US-based Windows Phone enthusiasts were allowed to download it for a couple of weeks.

The issue seems to have been triggered by a couple of achievements that failed to pass Microsoft certification because of some incompatibility issues.

With the problem solved, Monster Island is finally live in the UK marketplace for the low price of $2.99 and you can also download the trial version if you’re not interested in making the investment at once.

Windows Phone Marketplace Reaches 90,000 Apps

The Windows Phone marketplace has reportedly reached 90,000 apps and it won’t be long until the big 6 digits threshold is reached.

The last report had the marketplace at somewhere around 82,000 apps back in April, and considering that around 300 apps are being submitted daily, we assume that we’re well beyond the 90,000 by now.

Those of you that have been spreading the lies that Windows Phone doesn’t offer enough apps, here we are letting everyone know that such rumors are totally unfounded.

Lumia 900 Launch in Philippines on May 9th

The Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone is scheduled to be launched in Philippines on My 9th and a pretty spectacular event is expected, according to MisterJojon.

Nokia has made quite the reputation when it comes to promoting and launching the Nokia Lumia 900, and with names like Deadmau5 and Nicki Minaj, it was time for Jump Smokers to take the scene.

The two U.S.-based Filipinos that go by the name of DJ Flipside and Reydon, will be kick starting the “Lumianation event” on May 9th for the Lumia 900 launch.

Offline Facebook Messaging Allowed On Windows Phone

A lot of requests on offline instant messaging for Facebook have been posted and it seems that Microsoft and Facebook have finally decided to bring forth this much desired feature.

The guys from MimovilWindows have already demoed it in a small video and a couple of hints have already been suggested as to how to use the app.

Although you still receive a notification suggesting that it would probably be a better idea to just send an SMS message, the offline message is still being delivered as soon as that person goes online.

Nokia Lumia 610 Available on Pre-Order in Russia

Everyone in Russia can now start pre-ordering the Nokia Lumia 610 Tango handset because it has now been made available through online retailer Svyaznoy.ru.

The purchasing price has been set for 9990 Rubbles, which is only 700 Rubbles lower than the Lumia 710, which is considered a mid-range Windows Phone device as opposed to the Lumia 610 which has been tagged as a low-end.

Available in black, white and blue, the Nokia Lumia 610 can now be pre-ordered directly from the Svyaznoy.ru website and although a delivery date hasn’t yet been set, we assume that it’s only going to take a couple of weeks (a month tops) for the device to make an official launch.

LinkedIn App Available on Windows Phone

LinkedIn has just released a Windows Phone app version of their professional social network service and we have to say that it looks pretty good.

While the app definitely has a Metro user interface, all the right features that you’ve came accustomed with are present and besides reading updates from your network, you can also go through feeds and manage your invitations.

The app is available for download free of charge and it has received great feedback thus far, giving you enough reason to at least try it and for yourself.
