Airplanes Review

Remember when you used to play pen-and-paper airplanes during math hours? Well, all we can say is thank God for technology and human ingenuity, because you’ll no longer have to whisper coordinates to your desk mate.

Airplanes for Windows Phone is a re-envision of the same old school game, except that this time around you can play it from your Windows Phone device with anyone on the network.

Of course, you can also choose an A.I. for an opponent by why do it in the first place when it’s so much fun to actually shoot down your friends’ airplanes.

Chester’s Revenge Review

Chester the chef has just got his business ruined by six envious evil chiefs and now he’s out for revenge. Packing heat (a frying pan for a weapon), Chester starts dealing knuckle sandwiches to everyone that stands in his way to meeting the six evil bosses and taking his stand.

Developing all sorts of powerups along the way (like fire breaths, eye-tearing farts etc.) Chester swings his frying pan at evil waitresses and janitors in an epic brawling fight to reach the evil chef bosses and serve them a dish best served cold: Revenge.

LineBirds Review

Djinnworks are quite known for their skills in creating games and apps for Windows Phone, Android and iPhone devices, and it seems that LittleBirds for Redmond’s Mobile OS is greatly appreciated as well.

The game itself is not really all that complex in the true sense of the word, but the challenge lies in testing your reaction skills with each increase of the difficulty levels.

These cute and colorful little birds will soon become your best friends if you decide to strive for a high score and not to smash them head-first in the obstacles ahead.

Top Truck Review

The guys from Aceviral are not the first ones to make a monster truck game nor are they the last. Nevertheless, they did a pretty good job with Top Truck for Windows Phone 7.5 and we must admit that we had quite a bit of fun trying it out.

While you’ve probably guessed what the game is all about, bear with us a bit while we go through some of the details.

So, you start off by driving a monster truck (nothing out of the ordinary there) and then you go through various terrains and obstacles in order to smash cars and collect red stars (avoid the green) for points.

Bubblo World Review

We are well aware that there are tons of games in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace and that you have a wide variety to choose from. So, what makes Bubblo World so special that’s worthy of trying it out?

Well, we’ve got only one word that best describes it: “addictive”. Without trying to oversell it, Bubblo World is truly one of those games that you just can’t put down once you’ve picked it up. This is not Ahmed Baracat’s first game, as we have reviewed Fifty Five a while back and gave it two thumbs up, but this time he did an ever better job than before.

Mars Runner Review

Jake Poznanski, the same guy whose Ice Ball game we reviewed a while back, just recently launched a rather exciting game, called Mars Runner.

The odd thing about it is that it’s completely different from any of his past creations and that now he’s decided to go with a much more dynamic and entertaining look. This new change of style is definitely a breath of fresh air and it has certainly got us hooked on the game.

Although there’s no background story to the game, the rules are as straight forward as they can be and from the first five seconds after you’ve launched it you’ll know exactly what you have to do.

DiceBox RPG Review

If you’ve always played dice games and you’re somewhat of a gambling fan, you might be interested in finding out that there’s a game out there that lets you do just that. DiceBox RPG from Bonehead Software is just the Windows Phone 7 game that will give you the thrill of throwing dice and the addictiveness of gambling.

Although you’re not actually playing for money per say, you’ll be competing for the highest score. Your simple objective (throwing the dice around) is a lot more fun than you would have first imagined it to be, mostly because of the great physics, the bright colors and the wide range of dice that you can choose from.

Fifty Five review

Fifty Five is one of the Windows Phone 7 games that deserved to catch a lot more media attention that it already did. The reason for this is that it’s a lot more fun to play than we expected it to be and Ahmed Baracat, the developer, did a great job at developing it.

The game is all about trying to color as many orbs as you can and conquer the entire board. Sure, the rules sound simple enough, but when you actually get down to it you’ll notice that the game becomes increasingly more challenging as you change the difficulty settings.

TapSplosion Review

TapSplosion is finally here and all we can say is that it was well worth the wait. Kudos to Dave Leverton for getting it up and running and for fixing the submission errors reported last week on such a short notice.

The WP7Lab Team has been following Dave’s progress for quite some time and we were a bit bummed out when we heard a couple of days ago that the release date had been pushed forward because of some unexpected errors.

So far so good! TapSplosion just hit the marketplace a couple of hours ago and we barely pulled ourselves away from it to write this review. It’s every bit as fun as the videos promised it to be, and even more so.

Asteroid Armageddon Free Review

By now, the Windows Phone 7 marketplace has been ravaged by dozens of remakes, varying from the classic Snake to the all-time favorites such as Tetris.

Team Mango, recently released the 1.2.0 version of Asteroid Armageddon and from what we could gather, it’s a pretty neat game to play. What could be more fun than saving the world from an asteroid invasion?

Asteroid Armageddon is all about hopping behind a laser turret and start blasting space asteroids while collect points and buying all sorts of nifty powerups.

Strike Out! Review

The latest game released by B+ Studio appears to have gathered a lot of positive feedback on the Microsoft Marketplace and so, we decided to take a look for ourselves and see what Strike Out! is all about.

The first thing that you’ll notice is that it won’t be downloaded into your Games section, because it’s being promoted under Entertainment listing. This means that it’s going to pop up in your application menu, right underneath your Settings option (in case you have the default apps installed on your WP7 handheld).

Frogger Review

The title Frogger has plagued gamers for (literally) decades and it will probably do so in the future as well. Ever since 1981, when the game was first launched in its primordial arcade form by Konami, the game has continuously managed to haunt generations with its simple and addicting gameplay.

Although it’s a quite different from the way it used to be in the golden age of video arcade games, the new Windows Phone 7 version of Frogger is every bit as challenging as the original game and practically no chances have been made to the basic gameplay.

Chickens can Dream Review

If you’re looking for an amusing, addicting and at the same time strangely frustrating game, we might have found just the challenge for you. Amused Sloth is the proud developer behind Chickens Can Dream and from what we could gather, the game is beginning to pick up speed, becoming increasingly popular amongst Windows Phone 7 enthusiasts.

Although the background story is a bit sketchy and leaves you with a couple of questions in mind, all you have to know is that you’re a scientist that has to maneuver a chicken through an endless pit, filled with chainsaws, spiked boards, flamethrowers, rocket shooting cannons and basically anything that could stop you from reaching the next checkpoint along the way.

Deer Hunter 3D

The Deer Hunter name is something that we have all heard during the past couple of years. With titles such as Deer Hunter 2004 and Deer Hunter 2005 that were originally released for the PC version, now it’s time to try out the latest Windows Phone 7 implementation.

With the same set of rules that first launched the franchise, all you have to do is fill in the shoes of a hunter and explore the woods or meadows to try and shoot the perfect specimen that will make an excellent trophy for your wall.

Angry Teddy Bear Review

While the name can be a bit misleading, tricking you into thinking that this is a Windows Phone 7 version of the Naughty Bear Xbox game, rest assured that this is nothing of the sort.

JOJO Mobile has quite a pocketful of WP7 friendly games and from what we were able to gather, all of them are as colorful and cheerful as Angry Teddy Bear.

The story behind the game is that at night you have to remove all the angry toys before they start making a mess and wake up the sleeping girl.
