 Although we don’t know why someone who’s not from Finland would want to use it, it’s still nice to see that Nokia has imposed no country limitations, meaning that if you’re on vacation you can still check out your favorite videos.

 At the same time, it could also mean that the service might become available worldwide at some point and that Nokia is simply testing it out on Finnish users.

 We’re definitely finding the second idea more appealing since we’d love to have Nokia TV installed available worldwide, but ultimately it’s Nokia’s call.

 Anyway, it seems that some guys have already videoed the app in action and have posted a video on YouTube demoing it.

Apparently pulled from an app that has been spotted as running on various “weird” builds, the leaked Apollo build are believed to be Windows Phone 8 related and we’ll just have to wait until June to get confirmation on that.

Starting with build 8.0.9666 all the way to 8.0.9688, it does seem that the cropped builds might be running on actual devices instead of emulators.

If this is indeed an accurate assumption, then we might be looking at some Windows Phone 8 devices that are currently in the wild.

What’s weird is that no one has actually leaked any photos with such devices nor have we heard rumors of their existence until now.

With so many builds being tested it’s obvious that Microsoft still has a lot of work to do, but they’ll probably burn the midnight oil as the launch day approaches, so that we won’t have a buggy product.

Hopefully, not too many updates and patches will follow Apollo, because that will definitely ruin the entire Windows Phone experience for many users.

Anyway, we’ll keep a watchful eye on what other builds might show up in the wild; perhaps we can estimate the final build for Windows Phone 8’s launch.

The CDMA carrier has yet to release an official launch date for the new Windows Phone devices, but in all likelihood they’ll be available within the next couple of months.

Price tags have not been disclosed as they’re probably preparing some enticing 2-year deals that will lure a lot of customers for China Telecom.

The ZTE Mimosa is also rumored to make an appearance with the Chinese carrier at some point, and if this is the case, the Microsoft will have successfully launched an entire fleet of Windows Phone devices onto the largest smartphone market in the world.

If Microsoft manages to start shipping out a bunch of Mango/Tango/Apollo handsets onto the Chinese market, then their mobile OS will finally start gaining some traction and become a serious competitor to Android.

However, this is all wishful thinking at this point and we’ll probably start seeing some results by the end of 2012, once Windows Phone 8 is also revealed.

Until then, those of you that are affiliated with China Telecom (or plant to become affiliated) can start saving some cash for the Samsung Minuet, Nokia Lumia 719c, Lumia 610c and ZTE Mimosa handsets that will be launched soon. Interested?

Probably part of the Windows Phone Developer Summit, Apollo will be revealed along with what we’re hoping to be some new hardware.

A SDK and possibly an emulator will definitely be available to developers so that app experimentation can be done until the official Windows Phone 8 launch, rumored to be this late Q4.

A Nokia official seems to have confirmed all that although we’re taking the news with a pinch of salt until we can confirm it from other sources.

“Eurocom Nokia is expected to launch in the Lumia Nokia devices based on Windows Phone operating system, towards the end of the year, after the released version 8.0 of the operating system that includes full support for Hebrew.”

Our only concern is whether or no current Windows Phone handsets will be upgradable or no to Apollo, and Microsoft has managed to keep a really tight seal on this information.

Samsung and Acer have already called dibs on releasing Apollo hardware and by the end of 2012 we’re bound to see at least three OEMs coming forth with Windows Phone 8 devices.

With a two year contract and a penny, you can now own a HTC Titan and start using Windows Phone to its full potential. While it’s definitely a good sign that AT&T is selling out HTC Titan stocks, we can’t help but wonder if they’ll ever replenish them again.

The 4.7” LCD screen is more than enough to satisfy the needs of any casual gamer and avid Windows Phone user, plus the fact that you’re also using 16 GB of storage, an 8 megapixel camera, and a 1.5 GHz processor.

The off-contract deal is still a whopping $549.99 for those not interested in signing up with AT&T, but we assume that the price is a bit steep for any price, especially since the Nokia Lumia 900 is practically tagged with the same score.

While we don’t argue this, it does seem that Siri’s results were based on Wolfram Alpha’s ability to spot four different reviews in which the Lumia 900 got a five star rating.

Siri has definitely made a mess of things with this recent claim (to Windows Phone fans’ delight) and Apple has quickly fixed the issue.

Following a briefly released patch to Siri, it now seems that it only answers the question by saying “the one you’re holding” and “you’re kidding, right?”.

However, if you do a separate search using Wolfram Alpha, you’ll find that the Nokia Lumia 900 is still showing up as the “best smartphone ever”.

Apple has only replaced Siri’s answer on this issue and although we really appreciated a good laugh, it’s sad that they can’t take a joke.

Those of that have been using Apple’s Siri will no longer be plagued by the Nokia Lumia 900 and they’ll still be pretty happy with their handset.

We don’t know about you, but this latest incident was really funny and we do appreciate an interesting twist every now and again.

Bumped to version 4.1, the new homebrew app now features a couple of improvements and optimizations that will make it worthwhile and will definitely provide a better user experience.

As usual, the app has been made available for download on their official webpage, and you can read the full changelog below:

• PNG images are now used, meaning the accent colors should always be correct on the start screen
• Custom library is used for launching, which should fix conflicts with Battery Status.
•WP7 Root Tools SDK 0.2.1 is now used, which should speed things up a bit
• Optimizations, code cleanup, etc.

A concerned Windows Phone enthusiast has contacted Pandora in regards to the issue and a lengthy reply followed, detailing the reasons why they’re not considering an app for Windows phone.

While we’re having trouble understanding the reasons behind their reluctance in adopting Windows Phone, we’ll just have to let this one slide for now and hope that they’ll reconsider soon.

“Thanks for writing and for the feedback. Thanks also for your interest in having Pandora on Windows Phone 7. We are not developing an app at this time, but we will definitely keep it in mind while planning our product priorities for the future.

We know that our recent release has broken most unsupported Pandora clients, and we do apologize for the surprise and inconvenience that undoubtedly caused to your listening experience.

At a basic level, third-party applications are violating our Terms of Use and are obviously not authorized to sell (or give away) something that fundamentally derives its value from our product.

Beyond the boilerplate, though, the fact is that–while the use you are writing in about seems designed mainly to help folks listen to Pandora in their own way–some folks do use third-party unsupported client libraries in a harmful way, and so we make changes when we need to prevent this. Regrettably, we have no way of targeting changes towards some unsupported clients and not others–some are respectful of our business, but unfortunately we can’t tell them from those that are not.

Even disregarding attempts at malicious use, we do of course still have to continue to upgrade our software, and unsupported clients have been broken by these sorts of routine changes many times in the past as well.

The last report had the marketplace at somewhere around 82,000 apps back in April, and considering that around 300 apps are being submitted daily, we assume that we’re well beyond the 90,000 by now.

Those of you that have been spreading the lies that Windows Phone doesn’t offer enough apps, here we are letting everyone know that such rumors are totally unfounded.

Everyone currently owning a Windows Phone handset can easily find any app they’re looking for (hopefully) and install it in a matter of seconds.

Within the next month or so we’ll probably come back with news that the 100,000 limit has been reached thus leaving Microsoft to boast on their endeavor.

Developers have been publishing apps in a frenzy during the past couple of months and considering that all of these will be compatible with Windows Phone 8, we assume that the app store that’s going to be launched with Apollo will feature all the currently available apps as well.

The only thing that’s in question here is how accurate these statistics really are and if Microsoft will ever come out and announce an official figure. We’ll have to sit back and wait, but we’re not holding our breath in anticipation.

Nokia has made quite the reputation when it comes to promoting and launching the Nokia Lumia 900, and with names like Deadmau5 and Nicki Minaj, it was time for Jump Smokers to take the scene.

The two U.S.-based Filipinos that go by the name of DJ Flipside and Reydon, will be kick starting the “Lumianation event” on May 9^th for the Lumia 900 launch.

The guys from MimovilWindows have already demoed it in a small video and a couple of hints have already been suggested as to how to use the app.

Although you still receive a notification suggesting that it would probably be a better idea to just send an SMS message, the offline message is still being delivered as soon as that person goes online.

This new feature is definitely more than appreciated and it goes to prove that both Microsoft and Facebook only need to make a couple of fixes here and there, without releasing a major update for the entire OS.

You might as well give the new feature a try and make sure that the guys are right about this offline message sending ability.

The purchasing price has been set for 9990 Rubbles, which is only 700 Rubbles lower than the Lumia 710, which is considered a mid-range Windows Phone device as opposed to the Lumia 610 which has been tagged as a low-end.

While we don’t know when exactly the game will be released, we do assume that Battleship and Mirror’s Edge will be exclusive for the Nokia Lumia series and they’ll be showing up pretty soon.

The two titles from Electronic Arts have already been available for iPhones for quite a while and we can only assume that porting the titles to Windows Phone is a mere formality as this point.

The purchasing prices for the two titles will probably be somewhere around $4.99, but we’ll definitely see them show up as part of an Xbox Live Deal of the Week within the next couple of months.

These three titles have been announced for a long time and they have been set aside for these past couple of months.

The fact that the achievement lists affiliated with them have already surfaced for Windows Phone, its proof enough the titles will be announced pretty soon.

While the new features don’t seem to be affecting the OS’s overall performance in any way, we’re left to conclude that the Tango build is being pushed out to fix 256 MB compatibility issues with low-end Windows Phone handsets.

Of course, there are a bunch of features that are included in the update which include tethering, MMS capabilities and enhanced MMS features, and we’re pretty excited about the prospect of taking a Tango device for a spin the first chance we get.

If you remember YouTube Pro, you’ll now find out that the app has been pulled down from the marketplace, only to be replaced with SuperTube (one of its previous versions).

The guys from Fast Code seem to have been forced to go back to their original project because of the new policy and the new SuperTube looks exactly like YouTube Pro in terms of user interface and features.

While nothing is lost in terms of performance of support, having to switch from one name to the other may prove a bit tiresome.

However, the developers have published the new SuperTube app as free for a limited time, so that everyone can start downloading it and make use of it as YouTube Pro dies out.

While this is the first time that we’ve heard of such a bug on the HTC Titan, at least the guys from HTC have finally managed to push out an update that finally fixes that.

To users delight, the new bootloader update fixes the update issue by rewriting the previous version of the bootloader with a new one.

Rest assured that no modifications will be made to your device and all your personal data and files won’t be affected.

Those of you that have been waiting to update your HTC Titan handsets to build 8107 will now finally have the chance to plug in to Zune and start doing a little upgrading.

Flashing the new bootloader can be done by simply using Zune the same way as you would with a normal update and then you’ll be well on your way to a new Windows Phone build.

Significantly larger than the Nokia Lumia 800, the Lumia 900 seems to be packing its own identity and it packs a lot of interesting features that make it worthwhile.

The battery, camera and overall performance have been put to the test and the results were pretty impressive to say the least.

With 15 hours autonomy under stressful conditions and with a plethora of Nokia-branded apps to brighten your day, the Nokia Lumia 900 is definitely a Windows Phone device that stands out.

Packing a 1.5 GHz processor and 15 Gb of storage, the handset packs the right hardware features to give it a definite edge and ensure a great OS experience.

The shooter has also been put to the test and although results were mixed, the overall consensus is that the more light you have, the better the photos you’ll be able to shoo.

We’ve also had the chance to recently fiddle around with the Nokia Lumia 900 and we found it to be quite interesting especially from the design point of view.

Although Europe hasn’t yet received the Nokia Lumia 900 on a large scale so that the community can get the gist of it, we really believe that it’s going to be a hit.

Packing multi-account support and a bunch of other features that make it interesting, the user interface is definitely Metro-like and very intuitive.

Both devices have already started to show up in South East Asia and Europe, and making their way to Australia was only a matter of time (that will soon be corrected).

If the Nokia Lumia 900 will be landing at local carrier Telstra, it’s highly likely that it will retain its LTE functionality which will fit in perfectly with the carrier’s new network.

The Nokia Lumia 610 is also a pretty anticipated device because it broadens the range of Windows Phone handsets and if offers enthusiast low cost solutions for experimenting with Microsoft’s mobile OS.

It’s entirely true that this press invitation doesn’t exactly spell the launch of both Window Phone handsets, but an educated guess leads us to believe that Nokia wouldn’t have made the announcement unless something big was going to happen.

With this logic in mind, we strongly believe that some lucky Australian carrier (our money is on Telstra so far) will be receiving one or perhaps both devices.

If any of you down there have been waiting for the devices, it won’t be long now until you’ll actually be able to bag one for yourself.

Source close to Microsoft seem to indicate that the Redmond Giant would be more than interested in working with Facebook in an attempt to bring forward a Windows Phone handset that belongs to the social network mogul.

While this is still more of a rumor at this point, it does make sense that Microsoft would cut in and try to push Android aside since we already know that Windows Phone currently is the only mobile OS that features Facebook integration.

If Facebook is finally persuaded to sign the deal with Microsoft and start collaborating on a Facebook smartphone powered by some version of Windows Phone (most probably Windows Phone 8), the Microsoft will have a significant advantage of Android from the get-go.

This new information should be taken with a pinch of salt as we believe that this is more of a unfounded rumor that makes sense to Windows Phone users and not to everyone.

We’ll definitely have to keep a close eye on Microsoft because they’ve already purchased Skype and their recent partnership with Nokia suggests that the big M is definitely looking to expand by acquiring new technologies.

Will they succeed? We don’t know, but we do know that having a Windows Phone powered Facebook smartphone would be interesting. Would you buy one?

Some reports indicate that the ZTE Tania will be heading to China with a Lumia 710 competitive price tag that’s supposed to gain it some much deserved love.

Rebranded as the “ZTE V960W” and going for 1,250 CNY (198 USD), the low-end Tango handset is supposed to be making waves as it lands on the Chinese market.

Price tagged with a slightly lower number, the ZTE Tania will probably become way more appealing in terms of financial costs to the local Windows Phone community.

In terms of Windows Phone experience, the ZTE Tania offers all the same features that every other handset has to offer, but for a much lower price.

If Windows Phone is to succeed on the Chinese market, then ZTE’s Windows Phone device will have to be selling like hot cake by the end of the year so that Microsoft’s mobile OS market share can go up a couple of points.

By that time, we’ll probably have Windows Phone 8 on our hands, which will probably be lifting the load and support Microsoft ascending curve.

While the white Lumia 900 seems to be a Phones4U exclusive, both handsets are available for free under contract with Vodafone.

O2 UK on the other hand will start delivering the handsets starting May 15^th and they seem to be available for a contract deal starting with £59.

We hand only speculated at the success rate that Windows Phone had in front of other handsets and it now seems that Microsoft came clean with a pretty impressive statistic.

Nearly 98% of all challenges have been won by Windows Phone, summing up to a staggering 50,675 devices that have been “smoked” until now.

While this is impressive on its own, only 638 have managed to win the contest against Redmond’s mobile OS and earning their $100 (or whatever the local currency was) reward.

Clearly Microsoft went into a battle knowing full well that it’s going to come out victorious and it seems to have paid off in terms of awareness and media attention.

Ben Rudolf has posted these results on the Windows Phone Team blog and he was particularly excited that his little project turned out to become a major marketing stunt for Windows Phone.

After only harboring the HTC Arrive and then dismissing it in favor of iPhone devices, one might believe that Sprint is showing no love to Windows Phone.

David Owens, Sprint’s director of consumer acquisitions has recently made a statement the CTIA trade show, saying that he will “still bullish on Apollo”.

While this is in no way confirmation that the US carrier will be supporting Windows Phone 8 handsets as soon as they’re launched, it definitely raises the question if they’re at least considering it.

With Nokia Lumia 900 sporting LTE, it’s entirely possible that Sprint’s position on Windows Phone 8 might be a positive one as long as OEM manufacturers start delivering quality hardware that’s competitive with some of the most popular Android handsets out there.

While we do appreciate starting a good gossip, we’re not going to strengthen his affirmation too much until we have further evidence that Sprint is indeed sharing hands with Microsoft for Apollo promotions.

Tested alongside the Samsung Galaxy S and the iPhone 4S, the Nokia Lumia 900 appears to have performed admirably and ranked in first in terms of display under extreme lighting conditions.

It’s obvious that the AMOLED limitations that the technology was had in the past have been set aside and that Nokia has made some significant breakthroughs with their Windows Phone devices.

Clear Black Display has definitely proven to be a great improvement and DisplayMate has made ultimately proven that Nokia’s research and development team has done a great job.

The Samsung Galaxy S and the iPhone 4S handsets have ranked in second and third in this little competition although both of them have been sworn enemies in terms of market share.

Apple’s iPhone 4S has proven to be the last one in this display benchmark test, although it’s not exactly the perfect reference on which to judge the device by.
