Mixtapes Review

We’ve finally found the perfect solution for those of you that love music and not necessarily the commercial type (although there’s plenty of that too).

Remember the good old days when we used to create mix tapes for road trips or for special occasions (that takes me back a while)? Well, Mixtapes is a Windows Phone app that allows you to create and listen to millions of tracks that have been organize in mix tapes (more like  playlists) by people all around the world.

Although there are quite a few YouTube apps for Windows Phone 7, rarely we get the chance to stumble upon something that’s both practical and easy to use. LazyTube from Lazyworm Applications Ltd. is just the right app that seems to meet all of the above criteria.

DataHub Review

Ever wondered how easier would your life be if everything was neatly organized and managed to such a degree that you would never forget to pick up the groceries and never be late for a meeting? Well, with the steady growth of new apps in the Microsoft Marketplace, lots of new task management apps seem to emerge for the sole purpose of giving you a hand in the matter.

Sadly enough, most of them are a bit single minded and you only have a short list of parameters (read: options) that you can chooses from. Shopping list managers, calendars, organizers and so on are limited by their own inability to adapt and to accept new and more personalized data.

BHive Tasks Review

Are you always on the run and constantly booked? Do feel that you never have the time to take care of all your choirs and tasks? This might sound like a commercial for vitamin pills, but it’s actually about a small task management app for Windows Phone 7.

Blackberry enthusiasts have already been using this nifty piece of software for some time now and it was only a matter of time until it had to be implemented on the WP7 platform.

High Velocity IT Inc (a bit of a mouthful) are the ones that developed the app and it seems that they’ve done a great job at integrating it within the Windows Phone 7 OS. Their user feedback seems to indicate that the old Blackberry version was way too stuffy and that this new app is a lot more user-friendly.

With the new generation of handheld devices, it seems that everything and anything is possible. From online streaming to taking photos and sharing them with your Facebook friends, from web browsing and playing Xbox Kinect games to editing documents and Excel spreadsheets, Windows Phone 7 seems to be setting new standards.

Is there anything that it can’t do? Yes, it can’t bake you cookies neither can it slap you when you’ve forgotten you girlfriend’s birthday. On second thought, David Rodriguez just launched an app that can remind you when birthdays are and even organize your entire work schedule while you’re at it.

Flickr Review

The Flickr online photo management service provided by Yahoo has ceased to be a matter of breaking new for some time now. Although we haven’t heard from them in a while, it’s nice to see that they’re still trying to promote this service and it would appear that they’re doing a good job at it too.

Not long ago, the Windows Phone 7 version of Flickr has been launched on the Microsoft Marketplace and it managed to pull off a couple of good ratings since then. With only a single update from its original release, the 1.1 version of the app is significantly faster than its predecessor, but apparently not enough.

IGN App Review

With the relatively new emergence of the Windows Phone 7, more and more apps seem to have steadily made their way onto the Microsoft Marketplace and as a consequence, it’s getting harder and harder to browse through them.

From totally simple apps such as “Daily Quotes” to more complex ones such as “PC Remote Control”, the Market place is getting a pretty crowded place. When searching for the right app, it all goes down to a simple question: “what exactly do you actually need?”
